Madeleine has been associated with four universities (Royal Roads; Thompson Rivers, University of Saskatchewan, and University of Regina) in various capacities, such as co-designing and teaching courses on knowledge management, issues in continuing education, as well as family law and policy. At Royal Roads University, she was Associate Faculty Member and co-designed, developed and delivered distance graduate level course.
She worked at the Commonwealth of Learning: Africa where she was responsible for Online Course Development & Facilitation.
BIOGRAPHY | Madeleine Butschler
A senior associate, Madeleine Butschler brings to projects 20 years’ experience in a full spectrum of change management (CM) and communication roles from strategy, planning and policy, to training and knowledge transfer design, implementation and evaluation, as well as technical writing.
Drawing on her accrued big picture understanding from her diverse CM roles, Madeleine now focuses on being a sounding board for related planning, design and evaluation, as well as offering communications and editing services.
Her design and evaluation consultations bring seasoning through engagement on projects requiring wide ranges of knowledge transfer and sharing environments both face-to-face and online, including awareness building, training, coaching, and Communities of Practice. She received an award from an international body for an interactive design through satellite education. Her international work has included workshops in Africa, as well as online offerings for participants in England and India, supporting a community of practice.
In terms of needs assessment and evaluation processes, Madeleine has overseen integrating qualitative and quantitative gathering including: Interviews, focus groups, participant-observation; and documentation review, surveys and questionnaires. In developing and implementing training/professional education materials she has both created and coached others to produce – courses; study guides; manuals; check-lists; job-aids and quick references; PowerPoint presentations; glossaries; FAQs; online resource libraries; knowledge maps as well as Tool Kits.
Her writing and editing experience entails both drafting and coaching others to produce proposals, strategies, plans, guides, manuals, evaluation approaches, reports, and communication pieces. Madeleine’s published writing and communication experience encompasses: research reports and conference papers; published journal, magazine and newsletter articles in print and online; as well as brochures.
In pursuit of her professional interests and passions Madeleine received a Masters in Continuing Education and Juris Doctor. She continues her membership with the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
